Summer is here and it's not too late to get that bikini body you're dreaming of. Losing weight doesn't have to be rocket science, if slimming down is on your mind, read on to discover our top 10 tips to lose weight, feel more confident in your own body and rock that beautiful mini dress 

1/ Put away the food scale 

Don't try and control your portion by calculating how much calories. While it may work for some people, for most of us, calculating calories is so confusing it will discourage you. A trick to simplify this process is to order 2 appetizers instead of an entrée and cutting back on bread if you have pasta.

2/ Stash fruits

Keep fruits at work. It helps. A lot. During the 'I need chocolate' part of the afternoon. 

3/ Give shake chocolate a try 

Carry around a shaker cup of chocolate protein powder. When you feel hunger is about to hit, add the water, and it will fill you up. So you won't eat something high-calorie instead.

4/ Set limit, then go crazy

When you are at the cafeteria, select a small size takeaway box then fill up with whatever food you want in there. It's almost impossible to overfill it, which leads to overeat  

 5/ Floss for dessert

Brush your teeth after dinner, will most likely make you want to skip dessert, or eat again before going to bed.

6/ Take a 'before' photo

Take photos of yourself wearing nothing but sports bra and underwear. Anytime you fall off the wagon, look at those pics. Sometimes, that's all the motivation you'll need 

7/ Avoid liquid calories 

Be mindful of any drinks with high calories: juice, lemondade, pepsi, coke and the hardest of them all: after work-wine

8/ Set aside left over

Serve yourself then immediately pack and store any left over in a box and store in the fridge. That way, you will be discouraged to eat more than you actually need. 

9/ Sleep more 

Sleep is a cornerstone of weight management because of the impact it has on your hormones that control how you burn fat, how you store fat, and how you're maintaining muscle. The better your hormone balance, the better your weight management.

10/ Yin- Yang your diet 

Pair your treat ( eg: the bad stuff) with something that's good for you. Want chips? Have a small portion with veggies and guacamole, which is packed with good fats. Love chocolate, have it with yogurt. Feeling like cookies, remember to have them with a handful of fresh berries, too. That way, you'll fill up on good stuff as well as not devouring tons of the less-healthy food. 

In conclusion, not everyone is the same, hence your specific weight loss program may differ from someone else's. It could be climate, geography, the quality of the food you're buying, the volume in which you are eating that food and so much more. You have to listen to your body and honor your body in order for the process to work. What works for someone else might not work for you and vice versa. In the end, it's all about having an honest look at who you are, what your tendencies are, then build a program that revolves around that. 

Bonus tip: Look at pretty dresses and imagine yourself looking so pretty, feeling so amazing having a great time in them. Be as specific as possible. For example, right now I'm wearing this polka dot wrap dress and hands in hands with my husband, we are watching our 2 year old son shifting his cute little hands through the crystal clear sand on the beach building sand castle. We are having a great time on a vacation in Maldives.
